Global Voices in Esperanto
Global Voices is a digital media initiative that publishes stories from around the world to foster better understanding across divisions of nationality, culture and language. Volunteers for the Lingua project translate those stories into dozens of languages as a way to not only boost the readership of those stories, but also increase the presence of their language online and strengthen their personal translation practice.

Lingua communities are made up of the volunteers who translate these stories and the volunteers who serve as translation managers. Translation managers review translations for quality before publication, onboard new volunteers into our systems and undertake basic upkeep of the website.
Since 2013, the Esperanto language community within Lingua has been publishing translated stories on the Global Voices site in Esperanto, thus building up an important online corpus of more than 800 articles in the language. Interested in supporting this work? Consider becoming a volunteer translation manager.
We are currently looking for people who would like to volunteer as translation managers for the Global Voices site in Esperanto. Candidates should:
- Be fluent in Esperanto and English
- Have translation experience, either formal or informal
- Have experience with WordPress (or be willing to learn)
- Be passionate about mentoring people in the language
