Fatimah M. Ghareeb is a translator for Global Voices in Arabic. Her translation of the article “For LGBTQ+ people in Egypt, the internet is both a lifeline and a trap” from English to Arabic has been nominated for Lingua's Translated Story Showcase.

On a recurring basis, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two outstanding translations to feature in the showcase. Mohamed ElGohary, a Lingua Translation Manager for Arabic at Global Voices, explained that he nominated Fatimah's story translation “for its professional accuracy in rendering complex gender and human rights terminology into Arabic, all whilst maintaining an empathetic tone that respects the gravity of digital safety.”
