Lujain Alhaffar is a translator for Global Voices in Arabic. Her translation of the story “Dancing for Peace: How schools are uniting Nigeria through culture” from English to Arabic has been nominated for the Lingua Translation Spotlight.
Once a quarter, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two outstanding translations that deserve a special round of applause. Rami Alhames, an Arabic Lingua Translation Manager at Global Voices, called Lujain a “talented translator” and spoke about her approach:
