A story about the erasure of Tibetan culture in French museums, translated from English to Romanian by Elena Dinu

Elena Dinu is a volunteer for Global Voices in Romanian. Her translation of the story “French museums participate in Beijing’s erasure of Tibetan identity” from English to Romanian has been nominated for the Lingua Translation Spotlight.

Once a quarter, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two outstanding translations that deserve a special round of applause. This story was Elena's first translation for Global Voices, and Ioana Dobre, the Romanian Lingua Translation Manager, said she was impressed with the quality of Elena's work, especially because the source material was complicated.

“I also appreciated that she did not back away when I told her she needed to work on it a little more before it could be published. She has demonstrated to me that she is a serious translator.”

Congratulations, Elena, for your contribution! Check out her translation on the Global Voices in Romanian website:
