Mamisoa Raveloaritiana is a volunteer for Global Voices in French. Her translation of the story “Ugandan journalist Nila Yasmin: African women hold the power to transform intra-African trade” from English to French has been nominated for the Lingua Translation Spotlight.
Once a quarter, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two outstanding translations that deserve a special round of applause. Fidèle Juliette Ngo Ngimbous, the French Lingua Translation Manager at Global Voices, highlighted the choice of story to translate as one that's particularly relevant: “It is a topical issue. It promotes the role of women in business.”
