Evangelia Batra is a volunteer for Global Voices in Greek. Her translation of the story “Undertones: A dictionary to understand the war in Gaza” from English to Greek has been nominated for the Lingua Translation Spotlight.
Once a quarter, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two outstanding translations that deserve a special round of applause. Veroniki Krikoni, the Greek Lingua Translation Manager at Global Voices, observed that this particular assignment was Evangelia's 100th translation since joining Lingua in 2021. It was also an important story, given that the team wanted to contribute to understanding in Greek of the war on Gaza.
