A book review of ‘Palestine 1936,’ translated from English to Arabic by Amal Said

Amal Said is a volunteer for Global Voices in Arabic. Her translation of the story “Unveiling my grandfather's past: ‘Palestine 1936′ — A book review and personal odyssey of the Arab Revolt” from English to Arabic has been nominated for the Lingua Translation Spotlight.

Once a quarter, Lingua Translation Managers select one or two translations that deserve a special round of applause. Amal has translated more than 100 stories as part of Lingua, and Rami Alhames, the Arabic Lingua Translation Manager, said that the work on this particular story was “outstanding.” He called Amal:
